Royal Canadian Mounted Police arrested a woman in a Tim Hortons after she pulled down her pants, pooped on the floor and then picked up her feces and threw it at an employee behind the counter. The woman was in front of a barrier so no other patrons at the chain witnessed her disgusting behavior. The incident was captured on a surveillance camera and quickly went viral after it was posted online.
The woman became irate after the employee denied her access to the bathroom. Tim Hortons issued a statement explaining that the "Team Member used their discretion in this case and denied access to this Guest based on past behavior and out of concern for the immediate safety of Team Members and Guests."
The coffee chain told Global News that they do not have a policy that requires guests to buy something to use the bathroom but that some coffee shops do use a buzzer or key to control access to the restrooms.
“We are deeply concerned by this video as the safety of our team members and guests is always a top priority for us. In limited cases across the country, Restaurants have a restricted access policy for restrooms to ensure the well-being of our guests.”
Police said the woman was released from custody and has been given a court date to face her charges.
