HEADS UP: Strong Storms Possible Friday 12-6pm

GREENSBORO, N.C. — You'll need to pay attention to the weather on Friday. A few strong to possibly severe storms could form between 12 and 6pm in the Piedmont. There won't be many, and they won't last long, but some damaging winds can't be ruled out. Here's what the WFMY News 2 Weather Team is Tracking.

A strong cold front is heading our way. This front brought severe weather in places like Alabama and Tennessee Thursday. On Friday, we'll start the day with mostly cloudy skies and only a stray shower or two for the morning hours. By midday, the front will get closer and will spark a few heavier showers and possibly a few thunderstorms.
