452,000 Smoke Alarms Recalled Due to Defect

A few months after issuing a recall for 37 million of fire extinguishers, Mebane-based company, Kidde, just recalled thousands of smoke alarms.

The manufacturer is recalling 452,000 smoke alarms due to a manufacturing defect. Kidde says a yellow cap left on during the manufacturing process can cover one of the two smoke sensors, compromising the alarm's ability to detect smoke. Click here for more details from News 2
