Body Found Believed To Be Missing Hope Mills Woman; 2 Charged

Two individuals have been arrested in relation to the disappearance, rape and death of a Hope Mills woman reported missing earlier this year.

Beverly Ann Harris, 36, and Miguel Angel Navarro, 33, were both charged with first-degree murder, first-degree rape and conspiracy in relation to the investigation into the disappearance of Rebecca Michelle Fellows (also known as Rebecca Michelle Garcia-James), ABC 11 reports.

The two arrests were announced by the Hope Mills Police Department, Hoke County Sheriff's Office and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation on Monday morning, ABC 11 reports.

Investigators have reportedly located a body that they believe is Fellows, who was last seen overnight in Hope Mills on July 8-9.

"We have located human remains that we believe to be Rebecca, however, we still need to confirm the identity," the police department said in a release sent Thursday morning via ABC 11.

Fellows, 40, was last seen getting into a 2018 Dodge Challenger at around midnight on July 9, 2020, WRAL reports. Investigators also listed a gray Honda Civic as a vehicle of interest in July.

Residents in the Pioneer Point and Decker Heights neighborhoods were asked to check their door bell and security cameras for any suspicious activity that took place between 12:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. on July 9, 2020, WRAL reports.

The investigation is ongoing.
