Woman Killed, Man Hospitalized In Double Stabbing At NC Mobile Home Park

A woman was killed and a man was seriously injured in a reported double stabbing at a mobile home park in Orange County, North Carolina.

The incident reportedly took place at 10:30 p.m. at Maple Ridge Mobile Home Park on Sunday, ABC 11 reports. The male victim was bleeding heavily from several stab wounds when he showed up at the home of a neighbor, who called 911.

EMS arrived and transported the male victim to Duke University Hospital, who requested for first responders to check on his mother at their home at the mobile home. Orange County deputies discovered a woman lying face down in a large pool blood upon arrival, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

"This was a particularly brutal attack with obvious signs of a struggle," Sheriff Charles Blackwood said via ABC 11. "This was not a random act, however, and we do not feel there is an ongoing threat to the neighborhood or the surrounding community."

The identities of the victims were not made public as of Monday afternoon and the sheriff's office did not confirm whether the woman killed in the stabbing was the male victim's mother. No additional details have been released as of Monday afternoon.
